Welcome Virgo season! After a fiery summer, we find an earthy landing with Virgo. This is the time of year when rituals and routines kick in – the ascent through heat has ended, and now some intensity subsides. This season, from August 24th to September 23rd, we’ll begin to plant the seeds that will blossom into our year.
This Virgo season brings intention and something of a fresh start. On August 27th we get a new moon in Virgo, which invites us into pragmatism and day-to-day setting of goals. On September 5th, Venus enters Virgo where it will stay until the 29th. Here, we find a sense of love in practice. On September 9th, Mercury retrogrades in the sign of Libra—nothing big to worry about, but be mindful of indecision. Finally, September 10th we have a full moon in Pisces. This will feel like a refreshing splash of cold water, giving us some balance between our emotional and practical selves.
Food vibes this season rest in the last hazy long days of summer, mixed with the anticipation of a crisp fall. Here’s a time to plant seeds however you can. Clear out your pantry. Pickle things and make jam, if you can, so that you can mark the date to look back on.
This Scorpio season your ability to change is getting pushed to the limit. The planet of daring and action, Mars, is back in his home sign of Scorpio and he’s feeling spicy. Mars is the planetary ruler of the sign Scorpio; this stationing is like a warrior returning home to a well-stocked armory. There’s a delicate balance between pushing the limits and pushing boundaries. With a lunar eclipse—a force of dramatic, yet gradual change that you can look back on as turning points—capping things off at the end of the season, it’s all about knowing when to step into your power and when to step back out of it. The sun’s journey through the more-pressurized-than-usual depths of Scorpio this season sets the stage for re-evaluating your relationships this winter.

March 21 - April 19
The start of this season might feel abrupt in what it asks of you. Forgive it its clumsiness, and focus on one moment at a time. As the leaves turn, a calmer routine will settle in on its own.

May 21 - June 20
Take care of things entrusted to you and clean up your own messes.
After the fire of the last season, you’ll do well with the focus on cooling down that this season presents. Though you may feel a little restless with the onset of structure, trust that organization will open the door for independence. What’s the best way to take care of yourself?

The transition out of your birthday month is always exactly that: a profound shift. Take this time to go a little more inward, set some goals for who and how you want to be in the seasons ahead. It’s okay to slow the tempo.

The way communication flows for you this month may activate a little frustration. If you find it harder to know what you think, and to say it, go easy. This month, try to show and not tell. At the end of August, you’ll welcome a bit more levity with the new moon.

Your fresh start really catches around September 5th, with the full moon in your sign. Use it to discern what you need, and what you don’t. Communication this month may feel a little challenging, use this time to process all the summer’s information slowly, and let the extra stuff go.
